This was really sexy, and an intriguing story is being set up with mysterious pasts. The best scene was when the uke was at college and we saw how he was friends with benefits with his roommate. They took a rarer position for that one. :p It's my favorite way to see the boys go at it. Pathos is a good title because there's a lot of angst and pain below the surface of the characters. Although not as outrageously smutty as some yaoi, this manga is absolutely delightful. As the book description states, Pathos is the story of 2 men (vampires) raising a human child. The younger of the two men, J, is drawn to the boy's blood and desperately tries to resist the temptation so he doesn't kill him. I love Sadahiro Mika. Love, Love, Love. She can do no wrong in my book but something about Pathos just doesn't sit well with me. Its not bad. I really like the angst level of the book. The whole conflict with Ace being in love with Jay and Jay being attracted to Ace but shackled to King, albeit loosely, and Jays inner turmoil and guilt about being drawn to Ace is really interesting. The main characters being Vampires is always a plus too. ...
